Do you want to see how the Eduard Mk.I compares with Tamiya's masterpiece? 'Modelling An Icon' is the book for you!

Eduard’s 1/48 is a very fine kit that goes head to head with Tamiya’s latest offering. Is there much to choose between them? We’ll let you decide…

Morning everyone – I hope you are well, today!

Here’s my final build for my new book ‘Modelling An Icon #1: Spitfire‘, Eduard’s Spitfire MK.I. Though I built this ‘Weekend‘ version essentially from the box, I added some seat straps and then replaced the decals from the kit with those from an Xtradecal set (for reasons that you will read about in the book!) the results being seen here.

So that’s it, the final build and the final chapter of ‘Modelling An Icon‘ ready to be completed!

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
