I have teased a few images of this model over the last few days on my Facebook page, so I’m pleased to finally finish off Tamiya’s soon-to-be-released 1/48 P-38 Lightning, for my website!

This is a fantastic kit that’s fun to build, goes together with zero fuss and looks great once complete. But more than that, it’s the perfect kit to step out of your comfort zone with regards to painting and weathering, their use during WWII in some extremely hostile locations, creating machines that were very heavily weathered!

This then is my P-38 – I hope you like it. For more information via a complete build feature on this kit, please check out the November 2019 edition of Model Airplane International, via the link below.

Great job as usual Spencer. I am so looking forward to that kit. There is only one “G” model P-38 I really want to build: “Miss Virginia”. After reading “Get Yamamoto” a few years ago I concluded that #147 was the P-38G I really wanted to build. Maybe by Christmas I’ll be able to secure a copy. Kits keep piling up and you keep motivating me to buy more to build. You have a special gift for realism. Thanks for sharing Spencer.
