CANCELLED PLANS, FOOTBALL AT HOME AND PREPARATIONS FOR THE YEAR’S FIRST MODEL SHOW…
Not much to say about today. I’ve certainly not done anything that can in any way be considered modelmaking. The day started off on a concerning note as my wife fell foul of a stomach bug which meant we missed going to the football. So instead of travelling to Coventry, I spent the day packing for the Bolton show, whilst listening to another match on the wireless as my wife slept her way through the day.
Tomorrow sees the year’s model show program begin with the IPMS Bolton show at the home of Bolton Wanders FC, which I guess is only fair given my disrupted plans to be at another stadium today!
As a show, it has built over the years to be arguably the best one-day event in the UK. It’s certainly packed with enough clubs and traders to make the trip worthwhile for any enthusiast, so I always look forward to making the two-hour trip to the North West. It also means that I, along with my trusty sidekick and talented modelmaker, Haris Ali, get a chance to display our models, something that we don’t have that many chances to do throughout the year. So if you are there, please come over and say hello – it’ll be great to see you!
As I’ve been listening to the football all day, I have no music for you, but be sure that I will return to my usual playlist on Monday.
