Well, after a few weeks of very enjoyable work, my version of the Wingnut Wings 1:32 Junkers D.1 is now complete. As you can see I’ve gone for the prototype scheme, with it’s natural metal finish rather than one of the camouflaged aircraft, electing to leave off some of the markings, the explanation for which will be seen once the diorama that this model will live in, is completed over the next month or so.
This is a truly lovely kit and I’ve enjoyed every single minute that I’ve spent working on it – I hope that you like it as well!

Stunning work Spencer, truly inspirational.

Hi Spencer, another little masterpiece, I’m intrigued about the decals in this kit and being applied to the corrugated surface, did you come up with a technique? I’d be interested to know. Regards Alan F. Smith

Hi Alan – I didn’t! The decals proved a real snag and despite repeated applications of solutions, I wasnt happy with them. Those on the fuselage are almost okay – those on the wings were removed and the wings repainted. You would be far better off trying to airbrush them on…
