Yes, 100% with you there Spencer. Probably in part because I have resisted the temptation to switch from my tried and trusted, old school, materials and you have justified that choice in spades. My main reason was always one of cost though, do I spend a stack of money on a whole new paint range (or whatever) or do I spend it on that kit I really want, I can’t have both and furthermore do I really need that resin/PE upgrade or can I make it myself.. I don’t consider myself to be an especially good modeller, my competition best was only ever a highly condemned, 😉 but as I now just build for myself I only have myself to please, although I do try to make the best job possible within my limited skill base. If others like what I do then so much the better.
I would also like to say that after 50 years of model making I very much appreciate your sharing of various techniques and methods, always most informative and helpful.
