Are you looking for an easy to apply wash that will not damage underlying paint, then this just might be the technique for you!

Afternoon everyone – here’s a very simple video explaining how to use Roy Sutherland’s wash technique, that uses a mixture of Johnsons Klear, water and Tamiya paint.
I think that this will be useful to everyone from absolute beginners to far more seasoned modellers looking for a wonderfully inert addition to their list of techniques.
Here is the link – just click the picture! I hope that you find it useful!

Nice one! I have been doing something similar using Klear and Windsor and Newton inks in the same way for many years now.

I picked up on this a while back when Roy mentioned it somewhere. I really love this wash for cockpits; it really outlines and shadows recesses well without making it look too dirty.

Hi Spencer, looks (in the video) as something I really should try. Only one slight problem: where do you get Klear (or whatever it’s called now) in the UK?

Can you use alclad 2 aqua gloss clear instead with water and tamiya flat black.
