TAMIYA F-14A TOMCAT – THE BEST OF THE BEST

 

If you’ve watched the video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpUvWYd0Brc – you will know how impressed I was initially with this kit – now that it’s finished, those feelings are only amplified. This kit is simply the best 1:48 kit I have ever built. I’ve included here a shot of my bench showing that I built almost the whole thing as a series of sub-assemblies, that were painted and then brought together at the end.

 

The fit and precision is so good, many of these parts, including the nose, underfuselage fins, canopy, wings and wing seals, are not glued in place, friction and design holding them together. I’ve never built a kit that is so cleverly designed and fits so well.
