How to navigate the murky waters of modeller’s liquid glues…

IMG_0808

Hey everyone – here’s this week’s ‘How-To’ video.

I see a lot of questions Online about the use of liquid glues, what’s best, how do they work, what should a modeller buy, so I thought I would create a simple video offering a guide to some of the most readily available liquid glues that you might see. I’ve kept it simple and relatively short and it is by no means scientific, but this video shows what I use in my day job – with one exception – so you can see how these materials may be used around your workbench. If you are relatively new to the hobby, you should find this a handy guide to what’s out there and if you are not, you may just see some products that you haven’t used before!

I hope you like it!

To go with the video, here are some of the images that I took of the materials that I used, followed by some links for those that may want to purchase them for their own use. Being in the UK, the links are for UK sellers, but I am sure that sourcing these glues around the world, should be a reasonably easy affair.

Useful Addresses:

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
