A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: BATH, OR IS THAT, BARTH..?

A very short city break…

16th September 2025

The last day of our summer holiday saw us travel to the incredible city of Bath on the way home to Shropshire.

Shrouded in Roman history, Bath is a truly beautiful destination that mixes stunning architecture, ancient monuments and some of the finest restaurants, cafes and bars, anywhere in the UK.

Today, we did the whole tourist thing, open-topped bus tour, city walk, Roman Baths, lunch, beer and dinner, staying out from early morning to late this evening, to make sure we made the most of our short stay. We even managed to catch up with Andy Farmer, he of Hobby Company repute, something we only normally do at Scale Model World in Telford.

Below, you will find some highlights from our visit. Flying though it was, our day was highly enjoyable, so we hope you enjoy seeing the images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

See you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!

Spencer, Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I have many photos from Spain, a bunch from Italy, but none from UK. As I am Welsh on Dad’s side, Scotch-Irish on Mom’s I need to fix that.

    Regards, Tolman
