A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: WINDING DOWN…

26th February 2026

With the end of the week fast approaching and the prospect of being on holiday next week for ten days, it’s been a day of catching up with jobs and little more.

Having completed what I needed to do for Brett a few days ago, I was able to continue with the design work on the Spitfire book, not only laying out some more pages, but writing plenty of text that helped to fill in the blanks, detail-wise. So far so good, everything looking as pleasing as I hoped it would, the information being clear and concise.

Friday will give me the chance to wrap up a few jobs before what is a birthday weekend in the Pollard household, both my mum and Liz having theirs over the next few days.

So that’s it for today. A simple day on the way to our holiday next week. Which reminds me, I have to think of some topics to discuss whilst we are away – any ideas?

See you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!

For further thought – differing types of judging – and merits thereof. Thinking ahead to our June 28th EXPO. 😉 Thanks.
