30th December 2025

With my new studio layout planned, today was little more than a day of shopping and then sorting, before it’s partly disassembled and then rebuilt in the morning.
Having built my studio around IKEA shelving and desks six years ago, I decided to simply modify what I had and then add a few bits here and there where needed. As I’m not that keen on needlessly throwing items away, this allowed me to not only reuse what I had, but also keep the costs down.

The trip to IKEA was uneventful. I’d already decided on exactly what I needed, so it was simply a case of completing the 30 minute drive to the shop, grabbing what I needed and then head home. So that’s what I did. Tempting though it was to see if anything else caught my eye, I stuck to the task and only bought the items I had decided upon. And yes, I did have a hotdog!

As it stands, my studio is in bits, with loads of now sorted piles that will need to be rehoused over the coming days. All being well I’ll have it completed by the weekend, so I can begin work as planned on Monday. I have tried to do some building over the holiday, but that has kinda flown out of the window, my need for a reconfigured space taking precedent. Swings and roundabouts, eh, swings and roundabouts!
See you tomorrow!
