A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: A RELAXING DAY…

A day of Christmas shopping and time on my PlayStation…

17th December 2025

With work now at an end for this year I’ve been able to finally get ready for Christmas.

The day started with another round of blood pressure tests that are ongoing to bring my still intransigent readings down to a normal level. It’s all a bit of a ballache to be honest, but something that needs to be done for the next few days. Fingers crossed that next year the tests and meds finally bear fruit.

Breakfast and then a trip out for some supplies came next, most of which I can’t really discuss as Liz reads this diary! Suffice to say that I am now almost done shopping-wise, at least as far as presents are concerned. Beer and wine, you know, the important things, will have to wait until the weekend!

As for any modelling I’ve not really done much, only adding a few parts to the trailer before the pull of my PlayStation became too much to resist. Well, I did say that the holidays would be about things other than work, so I’m happy to indulge in other activities for a few weeks. Maybe over the next few days I may do some more on the trailer. Then again, maybe not!

See you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
