2nd December 2025
If anything, today has been pretty much the same as yesterday, only the characters having changed. Ian is still here finishing off the decorating, I spent the morning with my mum who I took shopping, then for a coffee and then up to the crematorium to lay a couple of Christmas wreathes, before coming home to work on the ‘109 once more.
With the house upside down and Liz feeling unwell, I kept out of the way, busying myself with the remaining engine details on the ‘109. As mentioned yesterday, I decided to follow the instructions building and painting as I went along. The result is that I now have a partially completed fuselage complete with cockpit and that engine already in place.

Truth be told, despite my initial scepticism and desire to add at least some weathering, I’m really enjoying the process and so far, and really like the model, its bright colours and sharp details looking very pleasing to my eye.
In the morning, despite having to rebuild the bedroom, I’ll complete the fuselage, which will only then leave the wings before painting. Actually, I’m thinking of painting the fuselage and wings separately and then bringing them together during final assembly, so the former might be painted over the next few days. We will see.
This evening, I’m helping out with The Beyond The Box Art podcast fellas, which should be fun. They have a great guest this evening who will no doubt be very engaging company. More details when I’m allowed to share them!
See you tomorrow.
