21st November 2025
With winter almost upon us (actually, given the heavy frost that covered the car this morning, it might already be here!) my mum announced that she needed some warmer clothes for the next few months. That being so, Liz and I took her up to Telford Town Centre this morning for some shopping and the inevitable purchase of coffee and a sandwich.
Gotta say, despite not being a fan of shopping, the sight of so many wandering around with Christmas clearly in mind, made me happier than I imagined it would and that, combined with the cold weather, made it all feel rather festive!
Back home, I spent the afternoon finishing the captions for my Marauder article and then spraying the Spitfire with a layer of VMS ready for weathering. The Spitfire is now very close to the finish line, with those final layers of colour being the only things left. Not sure of the direction I’ll take it, but might go for something a little heavier this time around. We’ll see…

In other news, the brand-new Airfix 1/24 Messerschmitt BF109G-5/6 arrived this afternoon. Destined for a very in-depth build, it was great to get my hands on this early sample. If I get a few moments this weekend (unlikely as we are at the football on Saturday and I’m in the office on Sunday…) I’ll take a closer look at it and give you some further thoughts.
So that’s it for today. Being Friday it’s off out for a pint and some football on the goggle box. A fine end to an up and down week!
See you tomorrow.
