A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: FINAL DAY OF PREP FOR SCALE MODEL WORLD…

An evening off before the fun starts at Scale Model World 2025, this weekend…

6th November 2025

Another short update as I’m still in the middle of finishing work for this weekend’s show.

Good news is that the Marauder is now finished, with only my packing left to do. I’ve also dealt with the book reprints, labelling up those that are being picked up at the event and allocating those to be posted out.

This evening we have friends coming round for pizza and The Traitors final, so that will give me some much-needed relief from all of the work this week. I’ll need an early start in the morning no doubt, but that’s a small price to pay for being – finally – out of the studio and into the real world!

See you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!

    Hi Spencer

I know it could be a bit late but is it possible for you to put aside both of the century series books for me.

I’ll pick them up at Telford if it’s okay.

    Kind regards

Enjoy Scale Model World and hope the Marauder turned out the way you wanted. Weathering natural metal finishes can be a bear…..
