1st November 2025

Taking Saturday off and celebrating the start of November, we travelled over to the gorgeous town of Shrewsbury to see my son, his girlfriend and more importantly my wonderful granddaughter.
At any time of year Shrewsbury is gorgeous. During the autumn months it takes on different dimension as the leaves around the riverside turn to beguiling shades of gold and copper, whilst the rest of the town begins the run up to Christmas. It’s just a wonderful place to be!

So today we all met up, walked around the park that flanks the River Severn, and then sat within the children’s playground until rain put paid to our conversations and we headed for the indoor market, and some coffee and food.

Like much of Shrewsbury, the indoor market is a busy, bustling, hidden gem that I absolutely adore. Filled with all manner of stalls the food stands are particularly inviting, the Birds Nest that has become so popular, providing excellent coffee food and service. If you are ever in the area check it out – you will absolutely not be disappointed.
So we are now home and I’m relaxing in my snug before popping out for a few pints later on. I’d planned to do some work this afternoon but have to say that I can’t really be bothered, so will leave it until Sunday. It seems wrong to have had such a lovely time with my family earlier this morning, only to undo all of that by working this afternoon!
That being so, I’d like to wish you all the best wherever you are and I will see you tomorrow.
