A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: THE END OF THE WEEK…

With the Marauder’s assembly now complete, it’s time for the weekend!

24th October 2025

A nice quick entry today to wish you all a lovely weekend and give you a little update on the Marauder.

I mentioned yesterday that I was suffering a little from fatigue and that that was having an impact on work. I’m happy to announce that today has been much better in that regard, everything that I needed to do, being done.

In the main that has meant that all construction has now been completed, the Marauder being ready to paint, at least internally. This is how I like to work, several days being taken up with initial construction so that all parts that can be finished together are built, ready for airbrushing and detail painting. As it stands, I should only need a few days to complete the painting of those details and sub-assemblies before moving on to the construction of the airframe and its subsequent painting and decals.

So that’s it for this week. Though I’ll be tatting around with the model on Sunday, the rest of the weekend will be all about the football and relaxation. There may also be a few beers here and there!

To everyone reading this I wish you all a wonderful weekend and I will see you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
