A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: A VERY LONG DAY…

Time for bed!

1st September 2025

It’s hard to believe that we are already into September. This year has simply flown by, seeming as though it was only five minutes ago that it was Christmas last year and here we are only a few months from the festive season 2025.

Anyhoo…

This has been a very long day that began at 8.30 this morning and has just finished at 9.30 this evening. With only a short lunch break and a 40 minute walk with Liz a few hours back, it has been an intense day at the bench working on some small cockpit details for my new build. With a holiday break coming up next week, it will be a week of these long days so that I hit my deadline for this month, so I’m just going to have to suck it up!

Quick news. The reprinted Jaguar books are already back from the printers so will be sent out this week. That means that this project is now fully wrapped-up and I can move on to something new. I have a few plans for possible projects, but don’t see those appearing until 2026. With only a few months left of this year, there will be no chance of anything else being completed, so I’ll park such heady aspirations until time is on my side.

So that’s it for today. Frankly, I’m too tired to do anything else so I’m calling it a day and going to bed! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
