Another busy day after another night without much in the way of sleep. Last week’s bug certainly seems to be lingering, with energy levels still really low and a general feeling of lethargy, unwilling to improve. Indeed, I just mentioned to Liz during our evening walk that I still didn’t feel particularly right, a comment greeted with the response that we are just getting old, which I have to say didn’t make me feel any better! She certainly has a way with words does that one…
Today has been a rather bitty day at work. Much of it was taken up with the start of my build of the new Tamiya M36 Jackson. I then dealt with the completion of my book packing, ready for despatch in the morning.
Seeing all of the books now packed and ready to go off on their merry way, fills me with pleasure, bringing to a close as it does, well-over two months of work. Sure, I’ve revealed the model and at times shown how it’s come together, but that is nothing compared to the thrill and no little trepidation that I feel once the books are done and on their way. As much as I’m happy with the results, it’s really the readers that matter, so I can only hope that they are pleased once the packets start to arrive and the books are in their hands.

So I’ve now started the new Jackson. Today I worked on the chassis and suspension, to a point where the running gear can be completed and tracks fitted. So far it has been a very enjoyable build, everything clicking into place as you might imagine it would. All being well and if my schedule works to plan, I’ll have the lower hull finished by end of play, which will allow me to complete all construction by the end of the week. I should also have some images of progress which I am sure you will be happy to see!
So that’s it for today. I’m now hoping that I manage to get some decent sleep tonight, that my energy levels start to improve and that this is not just down to my age as some people close to me, would have me believe!
See you tomorrow.

You are only as old as you feel, Spencer….. I am 84 (85 in late December) and I still have good energy levels and very steady hands – now, if I only could see close-up to paint details, that would be great….. I’m sure you will pull out of this malaise soon enough. Enjoy the M36 – it looks a beauty from what I’ve seen. Mine will be 1/32, but that’s me…..
