A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: A RUSH TO THE FINISH LINE…

Tamiya's F-35C finally comes together...

All being well, this model will be finished tomorrow and I can at last, breathe a sigh of relief!

22nd July 2025

Today has been all about completing the Tamiya F-35C for Marcus over at Tamiya Model Magazine International. Having assembled and painted all of the smaller details, it’s been a case of bringing the whole thing together, adding what seems like a mountain of parts into and onto the main fuselage section that I painted earlier this week.

With my mind being so focused on that, I hope you will forgive the shortened nature of this update, and that you are happy just to see the weapons bay that contains much of the detail offered by this impressive kit. All being well, this model will be finished tomorrow and I can at last, breathe a sigh of relief!

See you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
