A MODELMAKER’S LIFE: HOT, BOTHERED AND READY FOR BED!

Lightnings, Spitfires and evening walks...

30th June 2025

A much later than planned diary entry charting a very hot day that began early with a visit to the doctors for more blood tests, found its way through writing up the first part of my Tamiya F-35C article for TMMI, and then ended with a walk in what we hoped would be cooler evening air, but wasn’t.

I’ve also managed to start a new build for Brett, this time the new Airfix Spitfire TR.9, which I hope to bring you more news of later this week.

Though I’d planned to do it this evening, I will open the presale for my Jaguar book in the morning, so if you are keen to buy a copy of my new book, please keep a look at my my update when it drops around lunchtime.

And now I’m off to bed because honestly, I’m a bit knackered! Wherever you are, have a lovely rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow.

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!
