Though I enjoy building kits for work, more often than not they offer little challenge, so I’m now looking to push my skills with something that I have to build from the ground up to create something entirely unique, if only to me.
9th February 2025
One of those days when friends family and kicking back, take precedent over everything else. Much of our time was spent with friends that we meet up with this time every year for lunch, a catchup, and time to simply reminisce and enjoy each other’s company. It was also a chance for me to have a Sunday roast, something that I have so infrequently, it’s hard to remember the last time I had one! It was delicious though, so maybe I need to make more of an effort to have one if not regularly, then more than once a year!
Other than that, there has been little else to discuss, a few beers watching the Villa vs Spurs game and one of my all-too infrequent appearances on the Interesting Modelling Co live broadcast, finishing the day. It was certainly good to catch up with the fellas, discussions on a Sunday about all manner of modelling news being a fun way to round off what has been a very pleasant weekend, only spoiled by rubbish football results, shocking weather and my complete inability to stay asleep through the night. Better luck next weekend?
One final point of discussion this weekend concerned my ongoing hunt for a suitable subject for a fully scratchbuilt aircraft model, something that I now feel is at an end with two subjects being found. This is an itch that I have to scratch. Though I enjoy building kits for work, more often than not they offer little challenge, so I’m now looking to push my skills with something that I have to build from the ground up to create something entirely unique, if only to me. For both subjects I have the plans, I just need to continue my search for additional details neither of these aircraft being either well-known or indeed well-documented. Though one still flies, the other most certainly does not, so there may be a degree of guesswork when it comes to some of the smaller details. It should be fun though, so I’m rather looking forward to getting started.
So that’s it for today. Thanks for checking in once more and I will see you tomorrow!

Wow! I built a dozen back around 1980. Entered them as a collection at the IPMS USA Nationals. Didn’t win…
Yes, stop procrastinating……build a Lightning🤣
Who knows, you might even consider publishing another bookazine on building the BAC Lightning as well?
I am glad that the man was talked down. It’s definitely hard to see without knowing the outcome, until later.…
