TIP OF THE DAY…

When you have to glue two clear parts together and you can't use traditional adhesives, you have to turn to something a little more unusual...

When you have to glue a clear blister to a clear canopy panel, you cannot use glue. Solution? Drop part in place and then flood edge with Johnson’s Klear. Result? An invisible union…

And here’s the canopy, test-fit in place. That’s as neat as I could have hoped for!

I'm formerly the editor in charge of Military In Scale magazine and latterly, Model Airplane International. Editing duties to one side, I'm now a full-time modelmaker with Doolittle Media, working to supply modelling articles and material for a number of their group titles, including MAI and Tamiya Model Magazine International. I'm also an avid fan of Assassin's creed, Coventry City FC and when the mood takes me, a drummer of only passing skill. Here though, you'll find what I do best: build models and occassionally, write about them!

Outstanding trick. This blister thing doesn’t happen often but when it does, this is a great trick

Clear acrylic or enamel paint also works in similar situations.
